Afforestation Tree Planting

Grow and establish new forests! Afforestation describes the planting of trees on landscapes not presently, or recently forested.

Common afforestation projects include:

  • Converting former agricultural or marginal lands into forest, for conservation purposes, habitat enhancement, enhanced air and water quality, or increased resale value.

  • Expanding or connecting existing natural areas.

  • Planting wind-rows and shelter belts around agricultural fields, or property boundaries, to provide wind protection and noise reduction, to mitigate soil erosion and to enhance crop yield.

  • Establishing forests for the purpose of carbon requestion for climate change mitigation.

  • Establishing forests for the purpose of future management and timber value.

  • Planting sugar bushes for future maple syrup production.

  • Establishing legacy forests for the benefit of future generations.

Restoration Tree Planting

Enhance and improve existing forests and woodlots. Our restoration tree planting service involves the planting of trees in the understory of existing forests. The goal of these projects is to improve the overall health of forest ecosystems that have been impacted by insect predation, disease, invasive species spread, and/or severe weather events.

Reforestation

Replace and regrow recently cut or cleared forest areas. Reforestation tree planting activities are available for the re-planting of forests after commercial harvesting or widespread natural disasters.

Riparian Buffers

Establish trees and shrubs along watercourses and other water features such as wetlands, ponds, rivers, creeks and seasonal streams. This service is provided to help stabilize stream banks and shorelines, reduce soil erosion, enhance wildlife habitat and improve water quality.

Urban & Residential Planting

Planting trees in urban environments, such as city parks, streets and in other urban spaces, is a great way to establish tree canopy cover to increase shade and reduce surface temperatures, enhance biodiversity and support community well-being. Similarly, we also provide planting services for both urban and rural residential landowners.
